Role Overview

This role is for Atlanta Group, part of the Markerstudy Group.

We have an exciting new opportunity available for a Pricing Manager to join our team at Atlanta, part of the Markerstudy Group.

Your role has responsibility for developing and delivering pricing solutions through effective day to day management of a team of analysts and optimally utilising the team. This is to maximise Markerstudy’s ability to meet its strategy and annual plan but should also influence that strategy through regular identification of opportunities to Head of Pricing and Executive Committee.

This is to be achieved using industry leading techniques and best practice methods throughout the team, with an element being price optimisation using WTW Radar software. The role requires a hands on technical approach combined with making best use of and developing the team.

As a Pricing Manager, you will be responsible for the following core activities:

  • Lead and manage the development of effective and efficient solutions which deliver business requirements and add demonstrable value
  • Ensure that all team members follow quality assurance processes and manage risk adhering to all relevant policies
  • Champion the use of best practice methods and standards and ensure all team members maintain these standards
  • Instil a culture of continuous improvement within the team
  • Recognised expert within the department on your team's area of expertise

Plan, design and manage the development of Markerstudy's pricing capability in the ability to:

  • Develop and implement predictive models / price optimisation using market leading methodologies
  • Continuously evaluate methodologies, understanding how they fit into the wider piece, and identify where they can be improved
  • Ensure that the abundant data sources available are fully utilised across the department and identify new opportunities
  • Deliver detailed, insightful analysis to solve complex business problems and / or to gain a deep understanding of various Markerstudy business dynamics
  • Deliver regular management information on specific KPI's relating to Markerstudy's performance
  • Query large databases to extract and manipulate data that is fit for purpose
  • Maintain and share a strong understanding of Markerstudy and the wider insurance market
  • Liaise with a wide range of stakeholders to communicate strategy and outputs with technical and non-technical senior management
  • Represent the Pricing Team on cross functional projects, proactively identifying how external projects impact or interact with pricing
  • Remain abreast of industry best practice
  • Coach and mentor a team of analysts in producing actionable and value adding solutions
  • Manage a team of analysts and invest in their development
  • Role model behaviours and contribute to wider analytic and customer community to maximise value from our insight
  • Assist Managers in making tactical and strategic decisions
  • Deputise for Head of Pricing

Key Skills and Experience:

  • A degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Statistics, Operational Research or a scientific discipline with strong mathematical/statistical content
  • Analysis and statistical model building
  • Significant experience of working in the insurance industry
  • A track record of using market leading techniques in a creative way to solve business problems
  • Confidence in presenting technical and marketing information in a variety of mediums to clients and colleagues.  The ability to communicate to senior management level is critical
  • A motivated team player who produces analysis that is actionable and delivers measurable improvements
  • Experience of managing and developing a team
  • Experience of price optimisation (ideally using WTW Radar Optimiser)
