Our client, a specialist consultancy, is seeking a results-driven Sales Director to spearhead their business development strategy. This is a unique opportunity to join an established organisation with a strong presence in the education sector, as they expand their market reach.
The Role
As Sales Director, you will take ownership of the company’s sales function, leading a close-knit team of Business Development Executives to achieve revenue targets and business growth. You will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic sales plan, identifying new business opportunities, and strengthening client relationships. A key focus will be driving expansion into the Independent Schools market, positioning the company as a market leader.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to drive revenue growth and achieve annual targets.
- Lead, manage, and mentor the sales team, ensuring high performance and professional development.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.
- Oversee the implementation of a CRM system to enhance sales processes and pipeline management.
- Generate detailed sales reports, including board-level insights on performance and market trends.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to refine sales and marketing strategies.
- Play a key role in shaping the company’s market positioning and long-term commercial growth.
Person Specification:
- Proven experience in a senior sales leadership role, ideally within the education sector or a related industry.
- Strong strategic and commercial acumen with a track record of driving business growth.
- A “lead from the front” mentality – mentoring the team but willing to take personal responsibility for the sales target
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop sales teams.
- Ability to identify and capitalise on new business opportunities, particularly in the Independent Schools sector.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills to support data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a client-centric approach.
- Highly organised, results-oriented, and adaptable to a dynamic business environment.
