Role: Senior Commercial Officer

Contract Length: 3 months minimum

Location: Manchester or Blackpool Office (40% hybrid - soon to increase to 60%)

Pay Rate to Candidate: Up to 600 per day (umbrella)

A Senior Commercial Officer is required to join a public organisation on a 3-month contract (with extensions to be confirmed). Your role will be to work closely with colleagues from Digital and Finance to shape how they approach the market for the requirements Digital have, to run effective commercial processes that deliver excellent outcomes, and to ensure the contracts placed are managed effectively to achieve those outcomes. You will be responsible for providing end-to-end commercial support for procurements and contracts within the one of the sub-categories of Digital, including market analysis, requirements gathering, preparation of sourcing strategy, development of tender documents, execution of tender process, contract award and contract management.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong commercial acumen - Ability to run process, people who can make that work effectively, strategic thinking to get best value and outcome.
  • Experience of running procurements through CCS frameworks - and run procurement through them.
  • Ability to manage a busy workload with competing priorities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Understanding of and ability to apply UK procurement legislation (particularly PCR2015 and PA2023) as it applies to central government departments.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Contract and supplier management.
