This role involves managing national retail accounts, driving revenue growth, and fostering strong, collaborative relationships with major grocery chains.Main Responsibilities to include:Account Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with national grocery retail accounts, acting as the primary point of contact for account-related matters.
  • Conduct regular business reviews to identify opportunities for growth and address challenges proactively.
  • Develop customised plans for key accounts to achieve sales and profitability targets.

Strategic Planning:

  • Craft and execute account-specific strategies aligned with broader business objectives.
  • Analyse market trends, shopper behaviour, and competitor activities to provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
  • Identify opportunities for product placement and promotional activities within the grocery sector.

Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Work closely with internal teams-marketing, category management, and supply chain-to deliver tailored solutions for grocery clients.
  • Lead contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and promotional planning to ensure win-win outcomes for both the company and retail partners.

Performance Management:

  • Monitor sales performance and ensure the timely delivery of products to grocery partners.
  • Prepare and present performance reports, highlighting successes, challenges, and growth opportunities.
  • Manage forecasting and inventory levels to minimise stock issues and maximise sales.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in national account management, with a focus on grocery retail or FMCG.
  • Demonstrated success in driving sales growth within major grocery chains.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
