Solar Business Development Manager - Residential (including some Commercial)

North West - Remote Working

Prosper Recruitment is partnering with a relatively young Solar Installation business located in the North West. This business has successfully completed a significant number of residential and commercial renewable energy installations. The client has been in operation for 12 months and has secured new contracts for the second year. They achieved an impressive turnover in the first year and the business owners believe that now is the perfect time to implement their growth plans. They are seeking to hire a Solar Business Development Manager to focus on both residential and commercial projects, and to attract new clients. This is an excellent career opportunity as the role will evolve as the company expands.

The company provides excellent opportunities for career advancement for the right candidate. They are primarily looking for someone to work on residential sales (B2C) in the North West. The successful candidate will also be involved in commercial project sales (B2B), making this a varied and interesting opportunity. While experience in both residential and commercial sales would be ideal, it is essential to have experience in direct selling of solar products to homeowners.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and execute a well-defined sales strategy for selling the Company's Solar Proposition to new business customers across the North West.
  • Accountable for leading sales opportunities, including driving the sales process from plan to close, achieving growth and hitting sales targets, revenue objectives for new
  • Grow and manage a pipeline and opportunities, reporting to management on a regular basis a view of pipeline, forecasting and actions to achieve closure.
  • Negotiate and secure client contracts
  • Be able to qualify opportunities through early analysis by collecting data and detailed information from customers.
  • Supporting customers through energy industry experience and giving appropriate
  • Provide customer insight back to the business to help develop our proposition to the marketplace

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2+ years' experience in Solar sales - Residential
  • Some experience of Solar PV Design is advantageous but not essential as training given
  • Solid and verifiable track record of overachievement and verifiable record of successfully growing market share
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand the technical workings of the product of the company line and convey the advanced technical product benefits to potential customers in easy-to-grasp terms
  • Proven track record of identifying, negotiating/converting and closing deals
  • Ability to identify and convert new accounts while maintaining existing relationships
  • Demonstrated success in operating effectively in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, complex, rapid growth environment
  • A distinct customer service focus
  • Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication
  • Fluent English
