Overview
We are supporting a growing, specialist testing equipment company that is seeking a brand-new Technical Sales Manager to the structure due to expansion of their successful and innovative product line. They currently supply predominantly within the wastewater sector, however expanding the product line into the hazardous sector is expected to accelerate the business to the next level - be part of it!

The Role
Reporting directly into the MD, you will be responsible for generating new leads to boost new meetings within a new sector to ultimately close new deals. Due to the level of the role, you will be working closely with the MD from a strategic point of view, to plan the way to successfully supply the product into the new sector. Along the way you will also be working closely with the engineering team and liaising with and managing a distribution network for wider global reach.
From a technical point of view, you won’t be designing the equipment but expected to understand engineering processes, the difference in site requirements, how it can be deployed and the risk factors involved.
Their base is situated in South Manchester and the customer scope is global so worldwide travel will be applicable for this role.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Proven sales experience hunting new business, generating and following up on leads
- Have experience working for manufacturers that make complex, technical systems/equipment
- Experience supplying into the Petrochemical, Oil or Gas, Chemical sectors globally
- Ideally you will have a contact network within the Petrochemical / Oil and Gas sector
- Technical background (STEM discipline) Science, Engineering or similiar
- Creative thinker, out of the box solutions
- Strong at building professional relationships and developing customer engagement
- Collaborative team working, respect other points of view
- Flexible for worldwide travel as and when required for new client meetings/follow ups
- Live within a commutable distance to the Manchester area
