A national, multi-disciplinary consultancy are looking to fill an Associate Director position within their Highways & Transportation team. You will be based in the Manchester City Centre office at least twice a week with the rest of your week at home.

As an Associate Director in this position, you are required to lead a team of engineers and technicians to deliver a variety of Local Authority projects across the North West.

Although you won't be involved in the hands on technical design, you will be required to show expert knowledge and previous experience of this in order to manage your team and deliver the schemes properly. You will also need to demonstrate previous experience of liaising with the end client to deliver the project and also to win new work for you and your team.

To give you an idea of schemes that you will get the chance to work on, previous projects include; Goldington Road, Bedford, Bolton Road, Bury, Bus lanes across the North East and many more from Local Authority Frameworks.

Associate Director responsibilities

  • Manage client relationships to ensure the securing of work
  • Negotiate fee proposals
  • Manage work projects in line with client expectations and internal priorities
  • Manage and control project finances
  • Communicate with colleagues as appropriate
  • Continue to update personal knowledge or relevant technical, legal and policy changes
  • Manage and develop colleagues within project team
  • Use personal judgement and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions
  • Maintain continuous professional development
  • Provide guidance on quality matters and technical issues; and
  • Seek to "add value" to all projects.
