Commissioning Engineer - Manchester / Leeds

A respected client within the lighting and electrical controls industry is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to join their team, covering the Manchester and Leeds areas. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a hands-on professional to contribute to the delivery and optimisation of lighting control systems across a range of commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct commissioning of lighting control systems across various sites.

  • Travel to project locations using a company van or public transport, as required (travel time paid door to door).

  • Perform site surveys and pre-commissioning checks.

  • Diagnose and rectify faults in luminaire wiring using a logical and solutions-focused approach.

  • Collaborate with internal technical departments to resolve issues and improve processes.

  • Provide detailed reports on commissioning activities and communicate findings to technical teams.

  • Assist in investigating and resolving lighting control system faults.

  • Adhere to all internal quality control procedures, ISO standards, and health & safety policies.

Candidate Profile:
  • Professional, flexible, and personable, with a strong customer-facing approach.

  • Demonstrates a sound level of electrical knowledge and competency.

  • Holds a clean UK driving licence.

  • Confident working independently and under pressure.

  • Possesses a proactive and assertive attitude.

  • Proficient in IT systems, with strong computer literacy.

  • Capable of producing clear and concise reports following site visits.

  • Willing to travel regularly, including occasional overnight stays.

  • Holds a valid CSCS/ECS card.

  • Able to interpret and work from technical drawings and manuals.

  • Must be eligible for a DBS Barring check.

Additional Information:
  • Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
