We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Site Engineer to lead a setting-out project in Civil Engineering. As a Senior Site Engineer, you will take charge of key setting-out activities, ensuring the accuracy and alignment of all construction elements in line with design specifications. The Senior Site Engineer will oversee the execution of civil works, including roads, drainage, and foundations, ensuring all phases meet quality and safety standards. The Senior Site Engineer will collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and survey teams, providing technical guidance on complex site layouts. Key Responsibilities

Lead Setting Out:

Take full responsibility for all setting-out activities, ensuring accurate placement of structures, utilities, and roadworks in line with project specifications.

Technical Leadership:

Provide expert technical guidance to the site team, interpreting complex drawings and ensuring all work is executed to the highest standards.

Surveying & Measurements:

Use advanced surveying equipment (e.g., Total Station, GPS) to ensure precision in all aspects of civil engineering works, including groundworks, drainage, and structural elements.

Quality Assurance:

Monitor the quality of work, materials, and installation processes, conducting regular inspections to ensure compliance with design and industry standards.

Health & Safety Oversight:

Ensure all site activities adhere to health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments and leading safety briefings for the site team.

Coordination & Communication:

Liaise with project managers, design teams, and subcontractors to maintain smooth workflow and resolve any onsite issues quickly and efficiently.

Problem Solving:

Address and resolve technical challenges, offering solutions to keep the project on schedule without compromising quality.

Qualifications & Skills:

Experience: 5-7 years of experience as a Site Engineer, with significant experience in setting out civil engineering projects.

Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, including groundworks, drainage, and infrastructure construction.

Skills:

Proficient in surveying and setting out with modern equipment (Total Station, GPS).

Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong leadership and communication abilities to manage teams and interact with stakeholders.

Software: Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, and project management software.

Certifications: CSCS card and a valid UK driving license are essential. Additional certifications such as SMSTS or First Aid are desirable.
