Our client, operating in the water sector, is currently seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to join their team in Greater Manchester. This permanent role offers a fantastic opportunity to work on varied appointments, focusing on the delivery and technical governance of mechanical packages within the industry.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that project and client requirements are met
  • Generate scopes for all procured equipment and subcontract packages
  • Manage and track all Mechanical subcontract and supply packages
  • Final select equipment and pump options, ensuring they meet design requirements
  • Update Electrical team with purchased equipment details and drive sizes
  • Ensure M & E Subcontract Design complies with project specifications
  • Coordinate lifting equipment selection, design, testing, and registration
  • Oversee mechanical decommissioning, relocation, and maintenance


Job Requirements:

  • Experience in mechanical engineering within the water sector
  • Strong understanding of mechanical package delivery and technical governance
  • Knowledge in managing MEICA procurement packages from delivery to installation
  • Proficiency in technical documentation, ATEX design and installation
  • Ability to coordinate with various teams to ensure project success
  • Experience with subcontractor management and value engineering
  • Understanding of mechanical design, calculations, and equipment selection
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and compliance with industry standards
