Senior Flood Risk Engineer

Our client is looking for an experienced Flood-Risk Engineer to join their team in Greater Manchester, due to continued growth and client demand. 聽The consultancy is an award-winning family company with a track record of innovation and the desire to improve. As a Senior Flood Risk Engineer, you will be responsible for completing flood risk assessments for planning applications, surface water management plans, drainage impact assessments and much more. You will also have the opportunity to manage small-scale projects and work with the geoenvironmental team for multi-disciplinary projects.聽聽

Responsibilities:
路Fee proposals - bid/tender preparation and fee proposals for both existing and new clients.聽
路Client and regulator liaison - liaison with clients, architects, contractors, and regulatory/statutory authorities. Attendance at both client and regulatory meetings.聽
路Report writing - writing and reviewing Flood Risk Assessments and SuDS Assessments.聽
路Business Development - research and business development of potential new clients and development of the Flood Risk and Drainage Team.聽
路Project Management - Operating across a range of projects; work winning, budgetary control of project finances, liaison with wider team to carry out onsite work, site inspections and progress reporting.聽
路Mentor and Training - training and development of junior staff. The company also support self-development and staff are encouraged and supported to apply for chartership in their field.聽

聽Requirements:
路Strong bachelor's degree. An additional higher degree would also be an advantage.聽
路Well-established consultancy or industry experience in Flood Risk Assessments and SuDS Assessments.聽
路Substantial experience in undertaking Flood Risk Assessments in accordance with NPPF (and/or TAN 15).聽
路A good understanding of the workings of the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, and Lead Local Flood Authorities聽
路Up-to-date knowledge of current planning policies and procedures and how these can be utilised to maximise the level of service offered to our clients whilst gaining required approvals.聽
路High motivation for this specific opportunity.聽
路Self-motivated team player with exceptional people skills.聽
路Ability to work under own initiative while fully co-ordinating with line manager's requirements.聽
路Excellent communication skills.聽
路Full UK driving licence.聽
