A leading multidisciplinary construction consultancy is seeking a dedicated Principal Designer to join their team in the Northwest. This is an outstanding opportunity for a talented individual to contribute to a broad range of projects across multiple sectors.

The Principal Designer Role

The successful Principal Designer will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with the latest Building Regulations and providing expert advice on CDM and health and safety issues. You will collaborate closely with building surveyors, assisting them in all aspects of design and regulatory compliance on projects within industries such as commercial, healthcare, environmental and housing.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing and ensuring compliance with current Building Regulations.
  • Advising clients on CDM regulations and health and safety.
  • Assisting building surveyors with design and regulatory matters.
  • Conducting health and safety audits and inspections.
  • Developing and managing pre-construction information.
  • Conducting design risk assessments and reviewing construction phase plans.
  • Delivering training and workshops on CDM and health and safety.

The ideal Principal Designer will have:

  • A strong understanding of current Building Regulations and the Building Safety Act.
  • A background in design or architecture.
  • Extensive experience in delivering Principal Designer services.
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and team-working skills.
  • Consultancy experience is highly desirable.
