A prestigious national consultancy, who recently reorganised and rebranded, are seeking an experienced Principal Designer to join their expanding team.

This consultancy, known for delivering exceptional services across various sectors including commercial, residential, and public sectors, is looking for a professional who will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022 and managing design risks.

Responsibilities of the Principal Designer:

  • Lead the implementation and compliance of the Building Safety Act 2022 across multiple projects.
  • Provide expert advice on safety regulations and design risk management.
  • Oversee the development of pre-construction information and construction phase plans.
  • Conduct high-level health and safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Facilitate design review meetings and workshops to ensure risk management is prioritised.
  • Collaborate with clients, designers, and contractors to ensure effective communication of health and safety requirements.

Requirements for the Principal Designer:

  • Degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022 and CDM regulations.
  • Chartered Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH) or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in a senior or leadership role within a consultancy environment.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively with diverse teams.
