Our mission is to uphold the integrity of building control regulations and provide professional guidance to our clients.

Purpose of the Role:As the Building Control Manager, you will be responsible for the technical leadership and development of a team of Building Control Surveyors. You will ensure the consistent application of technical and operational standards, provide professional guidance, and uphold codes of conduct and performance. Your role is crucial in ensuring that our business performs its regulatory role as an Approved Inspector effectively.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of Building Control Surveyors with varying levels of experience and competencies.
  • Ensure new buildings, alterations, installations, and extensions comply with regulatory standards of safety, sustainability, accessibility, and design.
  • Advise clients' design and construction teams on high-rise, residential, and complex commercial developments.
  • Manage a range of projects, offering professional advice to designers, constructors, and the public regarding building control regulations and legislation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:

  • Professional qualification and membership (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors / MCABE / MRICS or equivalent).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of fire safety and construction design processes (RIBA Stages of work).
  • Understanding of building regulations, construction processes, legislation, and requirements.
  • Experience managing site inspections, including challenging areas.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and the ability to explain complex issues in simple terms.
