Your new companyYou will be working for a specialist multi-disciplinary consultancy that offers guidance to clients on defect diagnosis and building conservation. They are a firm of independent building professionals with an emphasis on solving complex challenges. Their expertise lies in Building Pathology, they specialise in investigating issues related to buildings, materials, and occupancy.They aim to provide the best-coordinated information and holistic advice on building-related problems. They help clients access the most cost-effective services and advice from other specialists in the field, such as academics and specialist reference laboratories. They provide relevant information and guidance to identify the cause of a building-related problem, find a solution, or prevent future issues. The firms list many of the major heritage organisations, institutions, developers, contractors and commercial property managers as clients, as well as private owners and enjoy an excellent reputation amongst fellow industry professionals such as Architects and Structural Engineers as well as Historic England and Historic Environment Scotland. Your new roleWhen you join the company as an experienced Building Surveyor, you will be given specialist company training as many of the diagnostic techniques and methods are unique to the company. You will be working on a very wide variety of ages and types of structures, each with their own unique problems. These range from damp penetration on a timber ship to fire damage in a castle to a leaking roof on a medieval timber frame building and failure of materials on contemporary buildings. * You will carry out building investigations and analysis of Building Pathology utilising a range of techniques. * Prepare reports with the necessary background research, remedial specifications and CAD plans * Assist in the provision of high quality and timely advice to clients relating to building material condition and performance * Attend meetings with clients and their consultants and assisting in giving appraisals of building material condition and building material performance * You will follow established company procedures and protocols and assist in the development of new systems to ensure that the company's quality standards are maintained and enhanced. * Undertake personal training and development, as discussed with Directors * You will ensure confidentiality at all times in all matters relating to any work or communication with the company and clients.
