With a growing client base and an expanding workload, we are looking for a skilled Fire Protection Quantity Surveyor to join our team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of projects within a dynamic environment, with a focus on fire safety solutions.

Job Overview:

Due to a significant increase in our workload, we are seeking a Fire Protection Quantity Surveyor with estimating experience to join our expanding team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the fire protection industry, particularly with passive fire stopping, and be proficient in estimating and cost management for fire protection systems.

The role will involve conducting site surveys, preparing cost estimates, liaising with clients, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects within budget and on time.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct detailed site surveys to assess fire protection requirements and determine the scope of work.

Prepare accurate cost estimates, tenders, and quotations for fire safety systems and services, including Fire Risk Assessments, Fire Door Installations, Intumescent Paint, Penetration Seals, Fire Protection Boarding, and Cavity Barrier Installations.

Evaluate project specifications, drawings, and technical documents to ensure accurate estimates.

Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to gather project-specific information and resolve any queries.

Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and health & safety requirements.

Support the project management team with budgeting, cost control, and reporting to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality or safety.

Stay updated on fire safety legislation, best practices, and emerging trends within the industry.

Contribute to the development of the company's fire protection division by offering expert advice and practical solutions.

Key Requirements:

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator within the fire protection industry, with a strong understanding of fire safety systems and installation processes.

Experience with passive fire stopping is essential.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and building plans.

Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.

Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and estimation software tools.

Full UK driving license (for site visits as required).

A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Desirable:

Fire Protection or Quantity Surveying qualifications (Degree, Fire Stopping NVQ Level 2).

Previous experience working on commercial and residential fire protection projects.
