Job Title: Interim Estates Surveyor
Location: Greater Manchester, Hybrid
Contract Type: Interim, 6-months ongoing
Salary: Circa £400 per day Inside IR35
Our client, a local authority in the North West, is seeking an experienced Interim Estates Surveyor to join their property team. This role is critical in delivering efficient, professional surveying services that align with corporate priorities and drive continuous improvement across the estate.
You will manage a varied caseload that spans property management, acquisitions, disposals, valuations, and project management for regeneration initiatives. With opportunities to work across diverse assets-including industrial estates, schools, council buildings, and housing-you will directly contribute to the Authority's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the let estate, ensuring effective lease management and tenant relations.
- Lead on the disposal of land and property assets, delivering value for money and supporting strategic goals.
- Undertake property acquisitions to support corporate schemes and infrastructure development.
- Project manage regeneration and property development initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgets.
- Conduct valuations of land and property for both capital and revenue purposes, maintaining compliance with RICS standards.
- Liaise with a range of stakeholders, including council departments, contractors, and community representatives.
- Undertake site visits to varied property types, including industrial estates, housing developments, schools, and council buildings.
Skills and Qualifications
- Degree in Estate Management, Surveying, or a related discipline.
- RICS Membership or equivalent professional accreditation.
- Proven experience in estate management, property acquisitions and disposals, and valuations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage diverse property portfolios and deliver results in a local authority or similar setting.
- Knowledge of regeneration and property development processes.
- Strong understanding of legislative and policy frameworks affecting local government estates.
