Senior Fire Engineer | Manchester | Up to £65,000 | Hybrid Working (2-3 days on site)

Situation

A leading transport provider in the North is looking to enhance its in-house fire-safety capabilities by recruiting an experienced Fire Engineering Consultant to join their team, primarily based in the Manchester office as a Senior Fire Engineer. This key role will focus on assessing the current state of fire safety across the organisation’s portfolio of 467 station buildings, offices, and outbuildings, then developing and managing an overarching fire safety strategy.

The Opportunity

  • Work with a high level of autonomy reporting directly to the Head of Property and taking the lead on all fire safety matters.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive fire safety strategy for the organisation’s property portfolio.
  • Work with key internal and external stakeholders, including the TFM supplier, ISS, to ensure compliance with fire safety standards across all managed properties.
  • Conduct and monitor Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs), ensuring all findings are addressed and appropriate mitigation measures are implemented.
  • Lead fire safety design reviews, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and internal fire safety policies.

Salary

  • £45,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Candidate Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in fire engineering, such as a Level 5 Diploma in Fire Engineering Design. (Essential)
  • Significant experience in fire safety management, with a strong focus on fire risk management and fire design reviews. (Essential)
  • Experience leading or supporting fire safety strategies across a varied property portfolio. (Essential)
  • Chartered Fire Engineer or working towards (Desirable)
