Brook Street Social Care are proud to be providing support to a service within Manchester, who offer 24-hour support to service users within a home environment via supported tenancies.

The service provides supported accommodation for a mixture of adult with complex challenges who have a diagnosis of mental health and/or a learning disability.

We are seeking to recruit a Clinical Deputy Manager to join their long standing and well-established team in Manchester.

As the Clinical Deputy Manager will be responsible for supporting the registered manager to lead the service while working as part of the support team and role modelling good practice within a social care setting.

Main Duties/ Expectations:

  • Providing an excellent standard of clinical leadership to all staff and ensure a high standard of care are provided while role modelling good practice within a social care setting.
  • Working in a person-centred way with individuals to improve quality of life and skill building around budgeting, personal care, community engagement, social relations, medications management and other person-centred goals.
  • Meeting with new starters to complete supervisions during induction as directed by, the Registered Manager
  • Highlight areas for training / development within the team and communicate this need to the registered Manager through observation of staff and service requirements
  • Undertake on-call duties as required and respond to call outs if needed in order to maintain a safe service, including covering staff sickness when all other options have been exhausted.
  • Completing on call reports and feeding back to the Registered Manager.
  • Under the guidance of the Registered Manager, ensure all team members receive adequate and appropriate support to meet their needs in relation to supporting people who challenge and highlight any change of staff development needs or the reviewing of support plans as an outcome of any incidents.
  • Assist the Registered Manager in ensuring service users receive their commissioned hours and manage the delivery of those hours in line with service users' needs and preferences.
  • Prior to a review, support the Registered Manager by reviewing support plans with tenants to gain their feedback in preparation for a review
  • Aid the Registered Manager in ensuring staff and tenants meetings are held at required intervals and ensure feedback from tenants and staff is responded to appropriately when directed by the registered Manager.
  • Have an understanding of the wider implications of the business in relation to the commissioning process, audit and inspection (CQC etc.)


To be successful for the role:

  • Full time contract
  • Registered Nurse (RMN/RGN) with valid NMC Pin
  • Proven experience as Clinical Nurse manager/ Deputy or similar clinical leadership role.
  • Experience in working in Social Care/ Nursing Environment
  • Full flexibility in working and covering on call (this may include evenings, nights and weekends)
  • Computer Literate
  • Confident telephone etiquette
  • Full UK driving licence (Desirable)
  • Full Eligibility to work and live in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS
