GCP Cloud Engineer – (GCP, Terraform, IaC, Kubernetes, Python)60,000- 70,000 -ManchesterFull-Time (Hybrid)Job OverviewOur client is actively seeking an outside the box thinking, GCP specialised Cloud Engineer on a permanent basis. In this role, you will be a senior member of the Cloud Team who oversee the design, deployment and maintenance of cloud environments, ensuring security for users. This role is designed to allow career progression alongside the success and growth of the company, ideally looking for someone who is looking to commit to a role long-term DevOps engineer, looking to progress into a Lead role down the line.Preferred skillset includes experience with:
  • 4+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Cloud Engineering or Platform Engineering in a Google-Cloud Platform cloud environment.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools specifically Terraform.
  • Evidenced practical experience with scripting Bash and Python (Pearl also desired).
  • Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, storage, and security.
  • Solid knowledge of containerisation technologies (Kubernetes) and orchestration tools.
  • Experience in CI/CD pipeline management and associated tools (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. This role is designed for a passionate technician, looking for support to upskill and develop. However, to facilitate this, the right candidate needs to be an ‘outside of the box’ thinker and hit the ground running. Ideally someone who has shown previous experience of innovative practices.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
