IT Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Liverpool or Manchester

Are you a motivated IT professional eager to work with cutting-edge technologies in a collaborative environment? Join our Infrastructure Team, a dynamic group of experts spread across Liverpool and Manchester responsible for delivering top-notch technical projects, managing the firm’s infrastructure and applications, and supporting a dedicated SQL function.

As part of our team, you’ll work with some of the latest market technologies like Software Defined WAN, Software Defined Datacentre, and support our migration to SAAS and IAAS platforms. No two days are the same, and you’ll find the work varied and impactful. Our team values learning and support, ensuring everyone grows together to stay on top of emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Service Delivery Manager to maintain and develop IT systems across UK and International offices.
  • Provide technical guidance to Project Managers to ensure seamless implementation of services and products.
  • Act as a point of escalation for Infrastructure Analysts, helping troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
  • Embrace changes aligned with the IT Project Roadmap.
  • Support IT policies, including service delivery, hardware, and software procurement.
  • Work collaboratively with all IT teams to execute the IT vision and strategy.
  • Contribute to knowledge transfer, moving repetitive tasks to IT Service Desk.
  • Maintain systems design and configuration documentation, test plans, and recovery methods.
  • Stay updated on infrastructure and security trends to enhance IT service delivery.

Who We're Looking For:

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in VMware management and maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure, including Entra and application configuration.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Server technologies (2016, 2019, 2022) and associated services.
  • Solid networking knowledge (troubleshooting, routing); basic switch configuration desirable.
  • Experience with Disaster Recovery and High Availability technologies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, native replication technologies, and Windows file services.
  • Strong understanding of monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, SNMP) for service monitoring.
  • Understanding of telephony systems, including SIP trunking and routing.
  • Analytical with a focus on troubleshooting and time/task management.

Desirable Skills:

  • Certifications: ITIL v3 Foundation, Microsoft Certified AZ-900/104/700
  • Knowledge in Office 365, Multi-Factor Authentication, iManage10, Mimecast, FortiGate firewalls, Remote Desktop Services.
  • Understanding of data centre technologies and an interest in Cyber/Information security.
