The CompanyOur Client a successful textiles company have an exciting opportunity for a Merchandise and Product Lead to join their growing team. You will oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle, ensuring the seamless delivery of high-quality, sustainable home textiles. You will also work closely with trusted partners to develop commercially viable ranges that align with the brand ethos. This dynamic role combines strategic planning, supplier coordination, and a hands-on approach to product development.

The Role

  • Lead the creation of innovative, sustainable, and high-quality home textile ranges.
  • Conduct market and trend analysis to identify new product opportunities.
  • Collaborate with design teams to finalize product specifications and ensure alignment with brand values.
  • Work with select partners to co-develop commercial ranges that complement our existing portfolio.
  • Ensure these ranges meet quality, sustainability, and commercial requirements.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
  • Negotiate terms, including pricing, lead times, and MOQs.
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality and ethical standards.
  • Raise and manage purchase orders with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Oversee production schedules, flagging any potential delays or issues.
  • Track shipments and ensure smooth delivery to warehouses or customers.
  • Review and approve samples, ensuring they meet the required standards before bulk production.
  • Collaborate with the QC team to resolve any quality issues.
  • Analyse stock levels and sales data to make informed replenishment decisions.
  • Work with the sales team to provide updates on stock availability and forecast demand.
  • Maintain accurate records of product specifications, pricing, and delivery timelines.
  • Generate performance reports to track sales, inventory, and product success.
  • Partner with marketing, design, and sales teams to ensure cohesive product launches and promotional campaigns.
  • Provide product insights and support for marketing initiatives.

Skills:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years in merchandising or product management, preferably within home textiles, sustainable brands, or related industries.
  • Degree in Business, Textiles, Fashion, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on detail and problem-solving.
  • Experience in working with suppliers and managing production schedules.
  • Passion for sustainability and high-quality product development.
  • Ability to thrive in a start-up environment, with a proactive, hands-on attitude.
  • A "do-er" who can make things happen and take ownership of tasks from start to finish.
  • Commercially driven, with the skills and motivation to drive the brand forward and deliver tangible results.
