The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to sell for an award winning company who provide software resources to schools and education providers in the North West area.

With the objective of assisting the company to grow and evolve their Secondary (Y7 to GCSE) Maths and Science products, working with the existing user base and nurturing new opportunities.

The role will very much be a blend of sales, market intelligence gathering, user-requirements gathering plus user support and guidance; proactive engagement with a strong bent to listening learning as well as promoting and selling.

The key priority will still be to make sales but where a sale is not made then the priority becomes understanding why.

You will be part of a national team reporting to the sales director and responsible for developing business in schools, colleges and MATs.

Key responsibilities:

  •     The development of territory through prospecting, customer relations and closure of sales
  •     To work to target  
  •     To demonstrate and promote the use of products virtually and in secondary schools initially across the North West of England.
  •      To create, maintain and develop relationships with educational organisations including LAs, MATs, Resellers etc.
  •      To deliver training and support on products as necessary
  •      To offer support on projects as required.
  •      To support marketing and sales events as required
  •      To keep, maintain and report necessary records of leads and their progress to sales management
  •      To maintain reports of any activity carried out in your area.
  •      To maintain and share a calendar of activities in your area.
  •      Offer support for any activities within the UK wherever reasonable.
  •      To attend sales and marketing meetings as required.
  •      To undertake any CPD as deemed appropriate.


Based within the North West salary is circa £45k doe neg. plus car allowance, benefits and commission, on target salary £55k p.a. commission is uncapped.

Your skills and experience

The ideal candidate will have experience of selling into schools and education and will have been a teacher before going into sales.

  • 3+ years experience in business development or field sales.
  • Teaching background is required.
  • EdTech background an advantage.
  • Excellent people skills including negotiation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter with strong time management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and telephone etiquette.
  • Must be comfortable working out of office with little supervision.
  • Valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle.
