Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled CNC Turners to join our team. You will be responsible for the setup, optimisation, and operation of a variety of CNC machines within our machine shop. This role is ideal for someone with experience in CNC machining, who is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

The position offers a competitive salary, shift allowance, and relocation and joining bonuses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC machines by installing and adjusting work holding devices, tooling, spindle liners, and bar feeders.
  • Operate CNC machines, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Verify programs and settings using a range of measurement equipment on first articles and make necessary adjustments.
  • Ensure components meet compliance with engineering drawings and quality standards.
  • Record daily machine operations and report on equipment effectiveness.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Maintain and improve time standards for production.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and uphold a high standard of housekeeping.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Support the team with additional tasks as needed across production or other departments.


Requirements:

  • Time-served apprentice with C&G/NVQ or equivalent in mechanical engineering.
  • Proven experience working with minimal supervision on early/late shifts.
  • Competent in setting and operating 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC machines.
  • Experience with Fanuc, Citizen, and Mazatrol systems is desirable.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Proficient in using a range of measurement equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring a high standard of work with minimal defects.
  • Organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
  • Flexibility to handle various tasks and responsibilities efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills across all levels.
