Our client, a specialist roofing contractor, based in Manchester are currently looking to expand their commercial division, meaning there is a new opening for an Estimator. This company are well-established, with a healthy pipeline of projects lined up for the future. They are offering a starting salary circa 45,000 - 55,000, projects across the UK, predominately within the North West region. Site travels will be diary dependent.
This role will be office based for the first 3 months with flexibility available after this time period.

Estimator Job Overview
Analyse Enquiry Documentation
- Review client requirements, scope of works, Bills of Quantities, specifications, and drawings to understand project scope.
Conduct Site Visits
- Verify and collect dimensional and logistical information for refurbishment projects.
Prepare Detailed Estimates
- Determine material, labour, plant, and access requirements to complete the project in line with enquiry documents.
Collaborate and Communicate
- Work with subcontractors, obtaining quotes and negotiating competitive pricing.
- Liaise with the Contracts Department to ensure a smooth project handover.
Risk Management
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Submit Competitive Bids
- Produce high-quality, accurate, and compliant tender submissions within deadlines.
Post-Project Evaluation
- Participate in reflection meetings to improve future estimating processes.
Estimator Job Requirements
- Must be within commutable distance of Manchester
- Must have experience as an Estimator in a similar position
- Roofing experience / roofing knowledge
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Broad technical knowledge.
- Self-motivated and results driven attitude.
- Ability to work independently
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Willingness to travel.
