CRP Group are looking for a Site Manager on behalf of their client who are one of the UKs leading railway contractors who provide a number of specialist services.

The key responsibilities of the Site Manager will be:

  • Manage daily operations to ensure that all work is executed in accordance with contract specifications and HSQE standards.
  • Monitor and document the completion of safety briefings for all site personnel, including visitors, prior to the commencement of work. This includes Site Inductions, Task Briefings, COSHH assessments, Risk Assessments, ALO Plans, and toolbox talks.
  • Ensure that all workers are adequately trained and competent to perform their assigned tasks while adhering to site rules and established procedures.
  • Communicate necessary information and ensure that all client and contract requirements are fully met.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors regarding project schedules, progress updates, quality control, and health and safety measures.
  • Promote and encourage the reporting of Close Calls and other safety initiatives.
  • Conduct all necessary pre-start checks on equipment and machinery.
  • Maintain accurate site records, including safety inspections and daily reports that detail personnel working hours.
  • Monitor the usage of labour, equipment, and materials, and report any discrepancies or issues.
  • Report accidents on-site and initiate appropriate emergency responses.
  • Liaise with client representatives and stakeholders, including statutory bodies and third parties.
  • Oversee work progress to ensure compliance with specifications and standards, while compiling relevant documentation and records.
  • Conduct site inspections and review project progress with the Site Agent.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of collaborative working practices and implement collaborative projects effectively

The skills and qualifications required of the Site Manager are:

  • SMSTS
  • PTS
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
  • Experience of working in a collaborative environment
