We're working with a leading global Data Centre operator who is embarking on an exciting new campus development in Manchester. We are seeking a Delivery Manager (Construction) to lead and oversee the construction process for this large-scale, state-of-the-art facility. The Role
As the Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for managing the entire construction process of the new Data Centre campus, working closely with the main contractor and internal stakeholders to ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
This role offers the opportunity to take a hands-on approach in driving the construction of a mission-critical facility, where your leadership and project management skills will directly impact the success of the project. Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Lead and manage the construction process for a new Data Centre campus in Manchester, ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Contractor Management: Oversee the main contractor and ensure they meet performance, safety, and quality requirements. Provide guidance, resolve issues, and ensure effective coordination between all parties.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal stakeholders, including design, procurement, and operations teams, to ensure smooth communication and alignment throughout the project.
- Risk & Budget Management: Proactively manage risks, change orders, and project budget. Ensure that the project stays on track and address any issues that may arise during the construction phase.
- Quality & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, building regulations, and company policies. Monitor the quality of work to ensure it meets the highest standards.
- Reporting & Documentation: Regularly update senior management on project progress, key milestones, challenges, and solutions. Maintain accurate project documentation.
What We're Looking For:
- Construction Project Management Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in managing large-scale construction projects, preferably with a focus on commercial, industrial, or mission-critical facilities.
- Data Centre Knowledge: While prior Data Centre experience is not essential, an understanding of Data Centre construction, infrastructure, or operations would be advantageous.
- Strong Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage contractors, and navigate complex construction challenges.
- Budget & Schedule Management: Proven experience managing project budgets, timelines, and delivering projects on schedule.
- Problem-Solving: Strong ability to identify, resolve, and mitigate construction-related issues in real-time.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Qualifications: A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred, though not essential. Relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, SMSTS) and project management credentials (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are a plus.
