Role Purpose: As a Senior Technical Manager, you will play a pivotal role within the Technical Management team, driving technical excellence across all projects. You will manage stakeholder relationships both internally and externally, ensuring seamless collaboration and communication. Your role will focus on setting up projects technically and mitigating risks during the pre-construction phase to reduce on site engineering challenges and uncertainties in design and cost.

Key Responsibilities of a Senior Technical Manager:
- Technical Leadership: Oversee and manage the delivery of effective design and technical management across projects.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaboratively manage relationships with bid teams, commercial teams, operational teams, clients, consultant partners, supply chain, and manufacturers.
- Risk Management: Identify, manage, and mitigate design and technical risks on projects.
- Design Coordination: Ensure designs are properly coordinated and communicated, integrating value engineering and change.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant technical standards, regulations, industry norms, and good practices.
- Project Setup: Set up and manage the technical strategy and deliverables plan for projects, including technical reviews and pre-construction phase delivery.
- Team Collaboration: Introduce relevant internal and external specialists to the project team at appropriate times.
- Technical Obligations: Understand, plan, manage, and discharge associated technical obligations under the Building Safety Act and CDM.
- Consultant Management: Identify design needs, set and manage consultant deliverables and fees, and liaise closely with consultant design teams, digital engineers, project managers, and project engineers.
Qualifications and Experience of a Senior Technical Manager:
- BEng or MEng/MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related building services degree.
- Incorporated or Chartered status (or working towards) with CIBSE, IET, IMechE, or other related institution.
- Minimum 8 years in a design-related engineering role.
- Sector experience in healthcare, commercial, leisure, MOD/MOJ is preferable.
- Proven ability to manage projects with £5-50M MEP value.
