A leading Build to Rent operator is seeking a Building Safety Manager to support the business to implement its legislative and best practice requirements in relation to health, fire and structural safety.Overview:

  • Job title: BTR Building Safety Manager (North).
  • Location: Hybrid working, travel to sites in the North as required.
  • Salary: £48,000 - £52,000.

Responsibilities of the Building Safety Manager include:

  • Support all business areas to operate in line with the Building Safety Act and associated regulations, keeping under review changes in Health & Fire Safety legislation as required.
  • Ensure all High Risk Residential Buildings are operated in accordance with the Building Safety Act 2022 and are registered with the Building Safety Regulator in the required timescales.
  • Act as a champion for building safety.
  • Develop and maintain the Building Safety Case Log.
  • Prepare Safety Case Reports.
  • Regularly review safety cases at sites within the region.
  • Work closely with the Head of Building Safety to develop and manage building safety resident engagement strategies and occurrence reporting systems.
  • Manage the process of obtaining Building Assessment Certificates.
  • Be the principle contact between the company and the Building Safety Regulator.
  • Support the sites in the portfolio to help ensure they achieve their monthly H&S KPIs.
  • Audit, monitor and report on building performance data and compliance matters for monthly review meetings.
  • Attend H&S related site meetings.
  • Work with the mobilisation team to help fulfil the initial H&S/BSA requirements.
  • Oversee any defects of site based assets related to life safety.

The person:

  • Prior experience with high rise residential buildings.
  • In depth knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021, Fire Safety 2022 and associated regulations.
  • NEBOSH or similar/equivalent H&S qualification required.
  • MBIFM, MRICS or equivalent desirable.
