Job Title: Health & Safety Manager (Construction)
Location: Northwest
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Salary: between £55,000 and £65,000 + Car Allowance and package

The Health & Safety Manager will play a pivotal role in guiding the operations teams on health and safety legislation, performing site audits, and driving performance improvements. This position, based in the Altrincham office with occasional site visits, requires strong collaboration with project teams to uphold a safety-first culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate amendments to H&S legislation and client standards, making recommendations to ensure compliance.
  • Educate and advise employees on their health, safety, and environmental responsibilities.
  • Support project teams with Health & Safety Plans, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments.
  • Conduct regular site safety and environmental audits, ensuring corrective measures are implemented.
  • Oversee incident and accident investigations, reporting findings to relevant parties.
  • Lead H&S and environmental performance improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare KPI reports and provide SHE statistical data to support ongoing safety improvements.
  • Maintain contact with project teams to offer guidance on SHE matters and promote a positive safety culture.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous Health & Safety experience in a construction setting.
  • NEBOSH Construction Diploma or equivalent, and membership with Tech IOSH or AIEMA (or equivalent).
  • Excellent IT skills, with strong communication, organization, and team-working abilities.
  • Ability to remain clear and accurate under pressure and tight deadlines.
