Creative Support is a national, fast growing not-for-profit organisation providing support to individuals with a wide range of care needs. We are currently looking for a relief Cook for our Wilshaw House service in Ashton-under-Lyne.
The service provides day care for up to 28 service users a day who have a diagnosis of dementia/memory impairment.
The role of a relief cook would be to provide cover from 0930-1400 (sometimes at short notice)
Cook duties include:
- To prepare and cook meals in line with an agreed menu plan for the day service and a varied menu in consultation with service users.
- You will have responsibility for the kitchen area, including shopping, stock control and rotation.
- To keep all kitchen and dining areas clean and tidy according to the cleaning schedules.
- To prepare food in a hygienic manner and in keeping with health and safety and food hygiene legislation.
- To be part of a team that provides a reliable service.
Wilshaw House is based in Ashton-under-Lyne. It is around 20 minutes’ walk from the town centre and around 15 minutes on the bus from the centre of Ashton-under-Lyne.
An understanding and experience of working with service users with mental health needs is desirable.
You will be required to work in a flexible relief based manner. This is a role which can be enjoyed by people who are committed to making a positive difference.
