Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Operations Team Leader, you will:
- Operate the power plant safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with legislation, site procedures, and best practices.
- Monitor plant performance, diagnose issues, and respond to alarms to maintain operational reliability.
- Conduct routine plant walkdowns and first-line maintenance to optimise plant performance.
- Work as an Authorised Person under the plant safety rules.
- Maintain accurate operational records and reports.
- Support the development and implementation of operational procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- A recognised craft qualification in an engineering discipline OR a minimum of three years' experience in process plant operations.
- Experience in power station operations or a similar heavy process environment such as chemical, refinery, defence, etc.
Personal skills
The Operations Technician role would suit someone who:
- Has strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Can work flexibly to meet operational requirements.
- Has good IT skills.
- Is able to work a shift pattern.
