Paralegal – Debt Recovery

Are you an ambitious Paralegal looking to develop your career in commercial debt recovery? I have been instructed to speak with a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join a highly regarded Debt Recovery Team.

Role Overview

As a Paralegal in the Debt Recovery Team, you will play a key role in providing an excellent client service and maximising the recovery of debts owed by business customers. This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic legal environment, gaining hands-on experience in debt recovery procedures and legal processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handling legal work to high professional standards in line with client instructions and Law Society regulations
  • Supporting the team with practice development and business improvement initiatives
  • Managing office administration, file reviews, contract reviews, time recording and archiving
  • Ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and Lexcel quality standards and departmental procedures
  • Providing general administrative support such as filing, photocopying, scanning and post allocation
  • Answering telephone inquiries, taking messages and assisting clients professionally
  • Updating case progress on the Nexum debt recovery system
  • Processing credit and debit card payments securely

Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional approach
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other standard IT systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Up-to-date knowledge of legal principles and commercial issues
  • Previous experience in debt recovery (desirable but not essential)

This role is ideal for someone with a keen interest in debt recovery, litigation or commercial law, looking to build a strong foundation in a professional legal setting.
