Are you an experienced Legal Officer with a strong foundation in employment law, seeking an exciting short-term contract?

Our client is looking for a dedicated legal professional to provide comprehensive legal advice, representation, and support to their Officers and Members in Employment Tribunal proceedings. This temporary role offers the flexibility of hybrid working, with a requirement for weekly in-office attendance at one of the client’s locations in Birmingham, Bolton, or Leeds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Legal Advice & Representation: Offer high-quality legal advice to Officers and Members, supporting employment law cases from start to resolution.
  • Tribunal Preparation: Manage Employment Tribunal cases, including drafting pleadings, preparing necessary documents, and representing clients effectively.
  • Caseload Management: Oversee a substantial caseload, making decisions under supervision and knowing when to escalate as needed.
  • Client Support: Provide detailed advice on various employment law aspects, ensuring all work meets the highest professional standards.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications: Qualified as a Barrister, Solicitor, or Chartered Legal Executive.
  • Experience: In-depth expertise in employment law, with significant post-qualification experience and a track record of managing caseloads independently.
  • Skills: Strong written, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to handle conflict positively and work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), as well as email, internet, and diary management software.
