A scale up brand that is owner led, this is a briliant opportunity for an Ecommerce Director to work hand in hand with the founders to drive growth and play a pivotal role in brand expansion over the coming years.

Role Overview for the Position of Ecommerce Director

As Ecommerce Director, you will be responsible for driving sales, profitability, and site performance to support the company's ambitious growth targets in the next phase of expansion. You will oversee the performance of the website, focusing on increasing revenue, average order value (AOV), and conversion rates, while ensuring a seamless customer journey. You will lead a cross-functional team, fostering a collaborative, customer-centric culture, while optimising key ecommerce functions and working closely with the Finance, Product, and Brand Directors.

Key Responsibilities In The Position of Ecommerce Director Include:
  • Revenue and Profitability: Take ownership of the ecommerce performance at the point of purchase, ensuring profitability and achieving sales targets.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and inspire cross-functional teams in Ecommerce, Commercial Planning, and Performance Marketing.
  • Website Optimisation: Oversee visual merchandising, content, and user experience to drive conversions. Collaborate with internal teams or external agencies to enhance the shopping journey.
  • International Growth: Manage the localisation process for international stores, ensuring a tailored and high-quality customer experience across regions.
  • Analytics and CRO: Leverage data and Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) tools to generate insights, test hypotheses, and continually improve KPIs.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the primary point of contact for all internal and external stakeholders relating to ecommerce and performance marketing. Ensure product availability and distribution are aligned with forecasts.
  • Strategic Planning: Lead the development of ecommerce trading plans, promotional calendars, and campaigns aligned with key events and seasons.
  • Traffic Growth: Collaborate with digital agencies to identify innovative ways to drive and improve website traffic across various channels.
  • Customer Focus: Maintain a customer-first approach in all decision-making processes.
Essential Skills:
  • Proven experience leading ecommerce teams in a Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) environment, preferably within fashion
  • Strong knowledge of Shopify.
  • Ability to execute quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret both qualitative and quantitative data to inform decisions.
  • Process-driven, with expertise in developing business models and operational processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts and translate them into actionable strategies.
  • Adaptability in uncertain environments and the ability to embrace change.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with a focus on outcomes and revenue generation rather than just output.
  • Experience motivating and managing teams to deliver large-scale, high-impact projects.
