WEX Europe is a leading provider of Fuel cards. We manage a range of flexible fuel cards in several key markets across the continent and due to ongoing growth; we are looking for a Credit Analyst to join our Credit team.The Credit Risk Team is responsible for; monitoring Customers spend against their authorized Credit limits, understanding changes in volumes, customers’ needs and reassessing for increases to Credit limits. Underwriting all applications across eight issuing countries in Europe, assessing and measuring the risk of extending Credit to all applicants. Proactive Portfolio Management ensures continuous monitoring of the financial condition and performance of our Customers.Our portfolio covers a wide range of business types and sizes from small enterprises to large corporate businesses and institutions.

Key Responsibilities of the Credit Analyst:

  • To assess and measure the risk of extending Credit to all applicants
  • Assess and evaluate the financial position and credit worthiness of all applications
  • Interpret / translate financial statements including balance sheets, P&L statements and management accounts
  • Strive to accept all business, through accepting and controlling the higher risk customers - by means of reduced terms, securities etc.
  • Minimize the risk to the business with a strong focus on fraud screening
  • Proactive monitoring through control reports
  • Working with multiple European portfolios
  • Assess, manage and report exposure position to determine the level of risk
  • Overtrade management where the customer exposures can rapidly change
  • Assessing customer accounts using information gathered, and making an informed decision within credit parameters with commercially balanced recommendations
  • Analysis of customers financial statements and B2B Credit reports
  • Maximizing volume opportunity and growth in line with Business goals
  • Customer contact and daily interaction with the In-Country credit teams and Sales teams
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with all Credit teams, Sales teams and Customer Service Advisors
  • As part of team, provide support/cover for other roles within the Credit department when required

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven analytical skills with the ability to assess financial information
  • Previous experience in Credit Underwriting / analyst or a similar role
  • Experience of dealing with the main credit reference agencies
  • Strong administrative skills - capturing and recording data, data reconciliation
  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • Knowledge of underwriting in European Countries
  • Underwriting experience in a B2B environment
  • Exposure to, or previous experience of Fuel Card Market would be beneficial
