Location: Trafford Park, Manchester

Reed Procurement & Supply Chain are pleased to be working in partnership with a leading transportation company based in Trafford Park, specialising in efficient and reliable logistics solutions. Our client is dedicated to providing exceptional service and ensuring the smooth movement of goods across borders.

Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Customs Clearance Clerk to join our client's dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating the customs clearance process for our clients, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process import/export documentation according to customs regulations, laws, and procedures
  • Liaise with customs authorities and clients to ensure the timely clearance of goods
  • Classify goods according to tariff coding systems
  • Calculate and process duties and taxes to be paid
  • Track the status of shipments and coordinate with internal teams to provide updates to clients
  • Maintain accurate records of all customs documentation
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in customs regulations and advise management on necessary actions

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in customs clearance or a similar role within the transportation/logistics industry
  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations and procedures
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and customs clearance software
