Data Engineer - Build, Optimise, and Innovate!

Location - Manchester - 2 days in the office / week

A fast-growing data company is looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join its team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves solving complex data challenges, working with cutting-edge Big Data technologies, and collaborating with Machine Learning and Product teams to enhance products.

The Role

This role involves analysing and troubleshooting data product issues, improving data accuracy and scalability, and developing innovative solutions using technologies like Apache Spark and AWS services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Python and SQL, along with a keen eye for debugging and optimising data processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously assess and improve data products, ensuring high performance and reliability.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on data processes and share knowledge across teams.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide technical insights.
  • Write high-quality application code and tests that meet industry standards.
  • Review colleagues' work, provide constructive feedback, and contribute to a strong team culture.

What's Needed

  • Strong experience in SQL and Python, ideally with cloud platforms like AWS.
