Data Engineer Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and manage scalable data pipelines and ETL processes in Azure.
- Maintain and optimise cloud-based data architecture, ensuring high performance and data integrity.
- Collaborate with business analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders to understand data needs and provide solutions.
- Work with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and related Azure services.
- Implement and maintain best practices for data governance, security, and compliance.
- Troubleshoot, monitor, and resolve issues in data processing systems.
- Continuously assess and improve data infrastructure and processing workflows.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in Azure and cloud technologies, and help drive innovation within the team.
Data Engineer skills:
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer, with strong expertise in Microsoft Azure technologies.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, or similar tools.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases and data warehouses.
- Solid understanding of ETL processes, data modeling, and data pipeline development.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of data security best practices and governance frameworks.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with various teams.
- Previous experience in the insurance or financial services industry is a plus, but not essential.
