Data Engineer / Data Analyst - Manchester (with hybrid)

Brand new role due to expansion and major contracts won! We're looking for a Data Engineer /Analyst to join and help shape the future of a data platform. You'll be working on the full data pipeline, from real-time processing and ETL (extract, transform, load) jobs to AI and data analytics, tackling large datasets and driving quality insights. If you're ready to roll up your sleeves and make data work, this might be the perfect role for you.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Writing clean and reliable code, with tests to match.
  • Developing smart monitoring systems to spot trends and trigger alerts.
  • Creating dashboards that transform raw data into meaningful insights.
  • Reviewing your teammates' code and offering constructive feedback.
  • Partnering with stakeholders to understand project requirements.
  • Acting as the go-to person for our data platform, sharing your expertise across the team.
  • Constantly assessing and improving the data pipeline's design and performance.
  • Contributing to project designs and architecture, always with an eye on the bigger picture.

What You'll Bring:

  • Strong problem-solving skills-you enjoy figuring things out.
  • Experience with SQL and Python.
  • Familiarity with dashboards like AWS QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Understanding of database concepts and standards.
  • Willingness to pick up new tech and ways of working.
  • A good grasp of agile practices like continuous integration and automated testing.
  • Team spirit-a positive attitude and a readiness to help out.
  • Some experience with cloud tech, ideally AWS.
  • Background in handling large datasets.
  • Knowledge of Git, Jenkins, and CI/CD tools.
  • Comfortable building and launching your own software projects.
