Data EngineerLeeds or Manchester (Hybrid - 3 days per week in office)£60,000 per annum

A talented Data Engineer is sought to join the central Data Engineering team within IT. This newly created role will play a crucial part in developing the BI and Data Platform, leveraging the latest Microsoft technologies. The ideal candidate will be passionate about data, possess strong communication skills, and thrive in a technical yet people-facing role.

What the Role Involves

  • Data Warehouse Development - Building and maintaining the SQL Server 2022 Data Warehouse, including SSIS, Data Factory, and SQL Server objects.
  • BI Reporting & Data Modelling - Developing Power BI/SSRS reports and maintaining robust data models (Power BI / Analysis Services Tabular).
  • Technical Support & Collaboration - Providing guidance to junior team members, assisting technical reporting analysts, and supporting internal projects.
  • Automation & Cloud Technologies - Working with Logic Apps, Power Automate, and Microsoft Fabric data platforms to streamline data processes.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in a BI Developer/Data Engineering role.
  • Strong expertise in the Microsoft Tech Stack (SQL Server, SSIS, Power BI, SSRS, SSAS Tabular).
  • Proficiency in T-SQL, DAX, and data warehousing principles.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT processes and data pipeline development.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders and gather requirements.
  • Knowledge of Azure Data Factory, REST APIs, and Git (preferred but not essential).
