Data Architect / Data Solutions Architect, with experience of building data platforms from scratch is required by an ecommerce company based in Manchester.

Are you a hands-on technical expert who thrives on designing and building data solutions from the ground up? I'm seeking a Data Architect / Data Solutions Architect to join my client in Manchester. This is a critical role for someone who can assess, design, and implement the right data infrastructure to support the global e-commerce operations. If you enjoy solving complex data challenges and working directly with stakeholders to build efficient, scalable systems, this role is for you.

Experience Required:

• Excellent experience in Data Engineering & data architecture, with the ability to build data platforms
• Strong technical expertise in Python and SQL.
• Experience designing and implementing data architectures from scratch, ideally for ecommerce companies
• Hands-on experience with ETL pipelines, automation, and database management.
• Proven ability to assess business needs and recommend the right technical solutions.
• Experience working with e-commerce dataand managing complex data structures across multiple regions is a plus.
• A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a passion for building efficient, scalable systems.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

You will play a key role in architecting and developing the data systems required to support a multi-country, multi-channel business, ensuring data integrity and accessibility across different platforms. This is not just a coding role-we need someone who can figure out the right systems implement them, and continuously improve processes to drive efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Building from Scratch: Design and develop a scalable data architecture to support our growing needs.
• Build and optimize ETL pipelines to process large volumes of data from multiple sources.
• Develop and maintain scripts to automate data workflows and integration across systems.
• Ensure data consistency across warehouses, pricing structures, and multiple e-commerce platforms.
• Systems Design & Implementation: Assess existing processes and recommend the right tools, databases, and platforms to improve efficiency.
• Implement best practices for data management, storage, and access.
• Support integrations between different internal and external systems.
• Work closely with analysts, developers, and operational teams to understand business needs.
• Solve real-world data challenges, such as pricing variations across regions and product data synchronization.
