An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Data Engineer to lead a data modernisation project in a highly successful Manchester-based SaaS business. This role offers the unique chance to transition from an on-premises SQL server to a cutting-edge data architecture using Microsoft Fabric. The successful candidate will be instrumental in rebuilding the data processing infrastructure, ensuring it is robust, scalable, and efficient.
What you'll do:As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in transforming our client's data infrastructure. You will be at the forefront of their transition from an on-premises SQL server to a state-of-the-art architecture using Microsoft Fabric. Your work will involve developing high-quality code for the core data stack, designing and building data flows, supporting and optimising cloud environments, empowering other team members through your work, leading migration projects, and managing ETL processes. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact on the company's data strategy.
What you bring:The ideal candidate for this Senior Data Engineer position will bring extensive experience with the Azure Data Stack and ideally, you'll have some experience with Microsoft Fabric.
* Strong experience with the Azure Data Stack (Databricks, Data Lake ETC)* Experience with Python, Spark, and SQL with a strong understanding of ETL processes.* Ability to work closely with Developers / Data Scientists* Excellent communication skills with proven ability to manage internal stakeholders effectively.
