Adecco Manchester are pleased to be recruiting for a Stores Manager to join a specialist Engineering business based in Middleton, Manchester.

The position is offered at a basic salary of up to 30,000 per annum, with 25 days holiday plus bank holidays. Please note, we are only able to consider candidates living within a reasonable commuting distance to Middleton.

  • Monday-Friday
  • No weekends/bank holidays/evening work
  • 8.30am - 4.45pm - flexible
  • Office and shop floor based

The Stores Manager is a key position, responsible for ensuring the smooth supply of parts and materials to Engineering projects and reducing any risk within the supply chain. You will work closely with the Stores Team to assist with the running of this department, ultimately ensuring all of the parts are ready for the manufacturing teams to use or dispatch on time.

Core skills sets required for this role include:

  • Stock control
  • Purchasing/procurement
  • Supplier management
  • Negotiating
  • IT proficient (stock management systems)
  • Goods in

The successful candidate will be able to bring new ideas to the table to further improve the stores and stock control processes. They will be willing to learn how all aspects of a manufacturing business operates, and take ownership of the stores and purchasing.

Duties include:

  • Procuring goods from new and existing suppliers
  • Negotiating best price and terms with manufacturing partners in the UK and Europe
  • Monitor supplier issues and come to solutions
  • Provide process improvement ideas
  • Daily administration of stores, including booking in, stock identification, stock counting and scanning of delivery notes
  • Adding new parts to the system
  • Liaising with teams regarding min/max stock levels and investigations into incorrectly picked/ordered parts
