Exciting Opportunity for an Experienced Mechanical Design Engineer
Our client, a leading manufacturing company operating in a heavy industrial environment, has an ongoing requirement for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce creative, conceptual, and detailed designs using 3D CAD software to meet product and customer specifications.
- Liaise with customers and suppliers on technical requirements and related issues or concerns.
- Produce and control detailed workshop drawings, specifications, and bills of material within budget and specified timeframes.
- Interpret customer requirements accurately.
- Ensure compliance with relevant specifications, standards, and safety regulations throughout all engineering projects.
- Evaluate new materials, product concepts, manufacturing techniques, and processes.
- Continuously improve the quality of the companys products and participate in quality audits as required.
Essential Qualifications:
- Degree in Design Engineering or a relevant field.
- Previous design knowledge and experience in the sheet metal industry, with at least 1 year of design experience using SolidWorks.
- Proven mechanical design skills with the ability to interpret customer requirements.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, engineers, and contractors.
- Hands-on experience within the excavator industry is a definite advantage but not essential.
