The Position:
The Primary Engineer is responsible to design optimised substation layouts that integrate all the required equipment considering their installation, operation, and maintenance constraints.

  • Technical engineering of primary, secondary design of substations / HVDC stations.
  • Design optimised substation layouts integrating all the required equipment considering their installation, operation, and maintenance constraints.
  • Convert project contractual documents into requirements and technical specifications.
  • Define and control planning for the project, ensuring on-time delivery of your deliverables.
  • Review and validate engineering deliverables under your project / tender scope.
  • Organize and perform projects design / gate reviews related to your function.
  • Conversant in managing the Interface with other disciplines / suppliers / cross-functions.
  • Collaborates on project installation, commissioning, and site activities, clarifying potential issues or providing solutions to correct engineering errors.
  • Interacts with customers, contractors, suppliers, attends project meetings and presents all technical aspects of project assignments.
  • Provide answers to client, partners & suppliers technical queries related to


Experience & Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree or HNC (or relevant experience)
  • Knowledge on High Voltage substation international standards & guidelines (IEC, IEEE, CIGRE etc.) and related equipment and substation design.
  • Experience up to 132Kv is essential
  • Knowledge of primary / secondary design engineering of substations or power plants or HVDC converter stations.
  • Knowledge on contract and project management, Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC), or Engineering equipment package (EEP) type.
  • Proficient with Autodesk CAD tools Revit, BIM360 etc.
