This is a full-time temporary role with the potential to become permanent based on fit and performance.

Your new role

As a teaching assistant within this school, you will be supporting a pupil with significant trauma and SEMH on a 1:1 basis. As this pupil is a child in care and has been subject to significant trauma, they will at times present challenging behaviour. You will be required to take a trauma-informed approach and implement a myriad of positive behaviour strategies to regulate their behaviours such as destruction, de-escalation, regulation, and taking them outside the classroom to burn off steam and use a sensory room. You will directly liaise with the class teacher, SENCO and head teacher on their progress and may be asked to give input during multidisciplinary meetings.
