Are you a dedicated Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? If so, we want to hear from you!

About the Role:

We are seeking a resilient and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide essential support to a child with SEMH needs in our vibrant primary school in Oldham. The successful candidate will be adept at applying emotional coaching strategies to assist the child in regulating their emotions, particularly during challenging moments. As the child attends school only in the mornings, the role also involves providing general support to pupils in the afternoons.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for Graduates looking to pursue a career in Education, even with limited classroom-based experience, or individuals with Nannying experience seeking to transition into a school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Apply emotional coaching strategies to support the child in regulating their emotions

Lead interventions when necessary

Create engaging and stimulating learning resources to facilitate academic progress

Assist in setting up and tidying up at the beginning and end of lessons

Provide general support to pupils during afternoon sessions

Requirements:

Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant is advantageous but not essential

Demonstrated initiative and a proactive approach to supporting children's learning and development

A Bachelor's degree is preferred but not mandatory

All appointments are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable), and professional reference checks

Eligibility to work in the UK is a must
