SEMH Teaching Assistant (Long-Term, Short-Term & Day-to-Day)Location: ManchesterSalary: Competitive, dependent on experienceAspire People are looking for SEMH Teaching Assistants to support students in across Manchester secondary schools who are struggling academically due to social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges.About the Role:As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with vulnerable students who require support, patience, and encouragement to re-engage with their learning. These students may have a range of behavioural needs and come from diverse backgrounds, so the right candidate will be empathetic, resilient, and able to build positive relationships.Key Responsibilities:* Supporting students 1:1 or in small groups to help them stay engaged in learning* Managing challenging behaviour using de-escalation strategies* Encouraging students to build confidence, resilience, and motivation* Working with teachers and SENCOs to implement individual learning plansRequirements:? Previous experience working with children with SEMH or behavioural needs? Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification OR an education-related degree? Strong behaviour management skills and an understanding of SEMH needs? A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)?
