Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you have the patience, empathy, and commitment to make a real difference in the lives of young learners? Our independent SEND primary school in Openshaw is currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their SEND team!

Position: Teaching Assistant (SEND)Location: Independent SEND Primary School, Openshaw and Droylsden siteContract: Full-time / Part-time availableSalary: Competitive, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEND in the classroom.
  • Assist with lesson delivery, helping to adapt resources and activities to meet individual learning needs.
  • Support students in developing both academically and socially, encouraging independence and confidence.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and other staff to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as required.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have a genuine passion for working with children with SEND & SEMH.
  • Are patient, empathetic, and able to build strong relationships with students.
  • Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Previous experience in a SEND/SEMH or teaching assistant role is preferred, but not essential.
